Carmen Paas översätter personliga och samtida upplevelser till ett nytt bildspråk i form av assemblage, skulpturer och fotografier.
Hennes bakgrund som arkitekt har spelat en central roll för att forma hennes konstnärliga uttryck. Arkitekturens estetiska och strukturella principer har lagt grunden för hennes kreativa resa och gett henne en djupare förståelse för proportioner och form.

Genom arbete med olika projekt och sitt intresse för fotografi har hon utvecklat sin känsla för det visuella samspelet mellan ljus, skuggor, material, färg och komposition som idag genomsyrar hennes konst.

Hennes kreativa process är en återgång till ursprunget.
Hon arbetar med naturmaterial och formar dem till olika strukturer i en komplex väv av form och mening, där olika kreativa förhållningssätt tjänar som inspiration för utforskandet av komplexa tankar och berättelser.

Carmen Paas translates personal and contemporary experiences into a new visual language in form of assemblages, sculptures and photographs.
Her background as an architect has played a central role in shaping her artistic expression. The aesthetic and structural principles of architecture, such as space and interspace, proportions, materials and colors, have laid the foundation for her creative journey and given her a deeper understanding of proportion and form.

Through work on various projects and her interest for photography, she has developed her sense of the visual interplay between light, shadows, material, colour and composition, which today shapes her art.

Her creative process is a return to the origins.
She works with natural materials, shaping them into diverse structures in a complex web of form and meaning, where different creative approaches serve as inspiration for the exploration of complex thoughts and narratives.
